George Sinvula Sanzila was born on the 15th of september 1980 in Katima Mulilo. He started his elemenatry school at a village called Lusese. "Life was good then, because we never gave a damn about anything. no video games, no levi's, no cellphones."
He was raised by his grannies, because at the time his mom (who was a widow), worked hard to make ends meet and provide for the family (8 children) in Katima Mulilo. "My mom was one of those aint -no -stopping- me -kind of a person, she was a hardcore businesswoman. She travelled day and night to a lot of countries in africa and she was able to communicate in different african languages. Prior to starting business here at home, she had stayed in Zimbabwe's Bulawayo for more than ten years with my father".
Wondering why he's using past tense??...his mother passed away, untimely in her hospital bed in Katima Mulilo in 2003. "Her death really got me, because we were so close, sometimes i keep thinking, she just went on another business trip. It's sick man".
His father passed away when he was two years old and you may label him as an orphan if u will. He has four brothers and one half brother (Fiddie, Kenneth, Syl and Spoodie) and four sisters (Chaze, Nansunga, Manga and Agnes (the latter also deceased)
Ofcourse a family won't go down well, without a bunch of nephews (Vernon, Titus, Sanzila1, Sanzila2 and Manga's two sons) and nieces (Ivy, Tutuna, Katu, Namasiku, Lumba and Chaze). he is a father too. "i got two beautiful kids, George jnr and Coco Nansunga.
After doing his secondary at Ngweze secondary school and Mafwila (matriculation) respectively, this cat went straight to the Polytechnic of Namibia and did a three year Marketing Diploma in Marketing. "I never intended to do broadcasting, i mean i love music, but to speak on radio??...that was not my style or my thing. I started out as a Librarian in the Music Library, later on..because i was doing part time presentation of programmes (Hits international formerly known as Top 20 and What's hot), a collegue of mine suggested i joined radio anchoring. I kind of thought it over and grabbed the opportunity."
He started growing dreadlocks in 2002, hopefully to make a statement.
"I always wanted to grow locks, they symbolise uniqueness, roots and they can be a remedy for hardships you experience in life and they humble u. To me that's a very big statement."
He completed his B Tech Degree in Marketing through UNISA recently. "I want to become my own boss one day and make lot's of money. I want to own my own Media house, that dream, i guarantee you, will become true very soon."
